Condensed Biography

• Born in Los Angeles, CA
• Holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from the State University of New York at New Paltz, with Cum Laude Honors (1981). The BFA in Painting is a professional degree in art, focused on intensive, studio-based training. BFA candidates are juried in for admission based on their artistic talent, and retain their BFA status through periodic evaluations by faculty members.
• Is a Signaure member of the Society of Animal Artists (S.A.A.). Signature members have full privileges and are considered to have achieved the highest level of their craft.

Mrs. Ryan spent much of her childhood in New York’s beautiful mid-Hudson Valley. Though she started painting much earlier, she began her formal training at age 11. Her paintings hang in county court houses, as well as both corporate and private collections. She has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in galleries and museums across the United States. Her work has appeared in publications, including Atlanta Style & Design Magazine, and various news papers. She has won several major awards from exhibitions, including Best of Show and People’s Choice. Along with commissioned portraits and landscapes, she paints equestrian and polo action scenes.  She is known for her sensitive interpretation of life and her ability to capture the essences of her subjects.

In addition to her commissioned works, Mrs. Ryan also has donated her talents to several worthy projects.

Although she has developed her own unique style of painting, her greatest influences include Burton Silverman, and John Singer Sergeant. Her talent and love for the arts show in every brush stroke.

Mrs. Ryan has been married to her husband Rick for over 30 years and they have two adult children.

I was privileged to participate in “Art from the Heart," a project that donates portraits of Georgia’s fallen soldiers. The paintings were initially exhibited at the National Museum of Patriotism in Atlanta in September 2007. The paintings have been displayed at the Georgia Capital and featured on Channel 11 News.
