I finished 2024 painting mostly trees and islands, so spent the early part of the new year going through old trip photos for new inspiration. The vanishing point in this one, into the north sea off the coast of Scotland, drew me in. This image also gave me the opportunity to tweak my colour palette, bringing some warmer colours into the mix. The tile, New horizons, here is both literal and metaphorical.

Hot off the easel! This piece was inspired by a walk along Dublin Bay during a recent trip to Ireland. The path, the line of cliffs and the crest of the hill converged pulling me forward into the landscape.
